Auto Installer now covers a much wider range of platforms, grouped by category:
\nAll of these join the installers you already know — WordPress, NodeJS, Python, and Website Builder — on the same Auto Installer page, with the same one-click flow.
\nEvery new installer follows the same shape the existing ones already set: pick a domain, install, and manage the site from Site Manager afterward. Depending on the platform, that includes:
\nNot every platform supports every one of these — a few flat-file tools like TinyPhotoGallery keep things intentionally minimal — but the CMS installers (Drupal, Joomla, Moodle, MediaWiki, Flarum, DokuWiki, OJS, and more) support the full set.
\nThis is a big batch of new installers landing at once, and we'd rather hear about rough edges from you than not hear about them at all. If you run into a bug, or an app you'd like to see supported isn't here yet, open an issue on GitHub — that's where we track it and where you can follow progress.

Anyone can read the code, see how a feature is actually implemented, flag bugs, track changes over time, or jump in and contribute.
\nWe believe this is important for software that manages servers. HiTechCloud touches websites, databases, containers, system resources, DNS, and SSL certificates — the kind of infrastructure where you shouldn't have to just trust a closed black box. Being able to see what the software does for yourself is part of the deal.
\nThis is the part worth slowing down on.
\nYou can read every line of HiTechCloud's source code on GitHub, but that visibility doesn't come with an open-source license granting free rights to redistribute or modify the software however you like.
\nConcretely: you're welcome to study the code and take part in the project, but that does not mean you can take the HiTechCloud code, rebrand it, redistribute it as your own product, or use it as the basis for a competing commercial hosting panel without the appropriate rights.
\nWe prefer being explicit about this rather than using \"open source\" as a vague marketing term.
\nThe Community edition costs nothing, indefinitely.

No trial clock, no card required. It's built for people running their own servers privately — currently capped at 3 user accounts and 50 websites.
\nThat's plenty of room to install it, host your own sites, poke around the platform, and build personal projects on it without ever reaching for a wallet.
\nThe idea is straightforward: if HiTechCloud is just for you, you shouldn't be paying a subscription for it.
\nThis is where licensing actually changes things.
\nCommunity isn't licensed for commercial hosting. If you're selling hosting, serving paying customers, or otherwise running HiTechCloud as part of a commercial operation, you need Enterprise.

Enterprise is purpose-built for hosting providers. It drops the Community account and site caps and layers on the tooling a commercial multi-user hosting operation actually needs.

\nHiTechCloud is built and maintained by a small team, and Enterprise is what keeps that sustainable. It gives hosting providers a way to fund ongoing development while getting features, support, and capabilities built specifically for running a hosting business.

\nWe kept the Enterprise licensing model simple on purpose: it's per server, full stop. Not per customer, not per website.

\nExisting installations are not affected. If you're already running HiTechCloud on Docker, you stay on Docker - there is no forced migration. This is purely a change for fresh installs going forward, and it's the single biggest performance change we've shipped since launch.
\nThe short version: Podman gets rid of the Docker daemon overhead, and that overhead was being paid per user, on every server, all the time.
\nDocker's architecture assumes one daemon (dockerd) per host, running as root, managing every container for every user through a single long-lived process. HiTechCloud runs Docker rootless per user to keep tenants isolated, which means every single user account on a server gets its own dockerd instance, its own containerd shim, and its own copy of every image it needs.
That's a lot of duplicated weight for a hosting panel where a server might have 10, 100, or 200+ user accounts, each running a handful of lightweight services.
\nPodman doesn't have a daemon at all. Containers are launched as regular child processes (fork/exec) directly by the podman command, supervised by systemd. No background service sitting there per user, no daemon socket, no container manager process idling in RAM waiting for work.
\nWe tested this directly on idle, freshly created accounts with zero running containers, on otherwise identical servers.
\nHere's the raw output from two brand-new, completely idle user accounts - no services started, just the account created:

Both users have zero containers running. This is pure engine overhead - the cost of the container runtime existing on the account at all.

That's before a single website, database, or cron job is even running. It's just the cost of Docker's rootless daemon sitting on the account, versus Podman having nothing to sit there.

On a 200-user server, that's roughly 28.6 GB of RAM and 52 GB of disk you get back before anyone has started a single container - just from removing per-user daemons. On a memory-constrained VPS host, that's the difference between needing to upgrade the box and not.
\nThe idle-account overhead above is just the runtime itself. The bigger cost shows up once users actually start services, and it comes down to how each engine stores images.
\nDocker rootless duplicates images per user. Every user has their own isolated Docker root, so if user A and user B both run PHP 8.2, the PHP 8.2 image is downloaded and stored twice - once per user. There's no sharing between rootless Docker instances by design. If a user spins up every service HiTechCloud offers - all 30+ available images (multiple PHP versions, webservers, databases, mail, DNS, monitoring, etc.) - that user alone can account for ~11 GB of duplicated images, entirely on their own.
\nPodman uses shared image storage. Images are pulled once into a shared, read-only store and every user's containers reference the same layers instead of re-downloading and re-storing their own copy. The full image catalog for the whole system - every version of every service HiTechCloud supports - comes to about 10 GB total, shared across every user on the box, regardless of how many accounts exist.
\nFor a typical active user - not a power user running all 30+ services, just a normal site with 2 PHP versions, a webserver, cron, MySQL, and Redis - that duplication costs about 2 GB per user on Docker that Podman simply doesn't need, because those images are already sitting in the shared store.

The Podman number barely moves as user count grows, because the images are shared, not duplicated. Docker's number scales linearly with every account you add. This is the part of the switch that matters most for hosts running dense, multi-tenant servers - disk that used to grow with every new signup now mostly doesn't.
\nThe RAM and disk numbers are what pushed us to make the switch, but they're not the only reason Podman is the better fit for a rootless, multi-tenant hosting panel:

\nTo be upfront: Podman support in HiTechCloud is still in beta. It's what new installations will default to once HiTechCloud 2.0 ships at the end of the year, but we're actively hardening it against edge cases before then.
\nExisting HiTechCloud installations keep running on Docker - nothing changes for you, and there's no forced migration path being pushed on current servers. \nThen Oakley Capital acquired cPanel in 2018. In 2019, they scrapped the unlimited model completely and switched to per-account pricing. Hosts with thousands of accounts saw their bills jump 500% overnight. The community was furious. Nothing changed.
\nSince then, the price has gone up every single year without exception:

\nIf you're a small operator running 10–50 client sites, you're paying for a product that was designed for enterprise hosting companies, built by a team that doesn't care much whether you stay or go.
\nMost operators migrating away from cPanel have the same checklist, even if they haven't written it down:
\nMost alternatives fail at one or two of these. Below is how HiTechCloud addresses each one — and where the gaps still exist.
\nHiTechCloud is a hosting control panel built around Docker containers. That's the core idea that makes it different from everything else.
\nIn a traditional setup — cPanel, Plesk, DirectAdmin — all your users share the same server environment. The same PHP installation, the same MySQL, often the same web server configuration. Isolation is bolt-on, not built-in.
\nHiTechCloud gives each user their own Docker container. Their own MySQL instance. Their own PHP version. Their own web server — you can run Nginx for one client and Apache for another on the same machine. None of them can see each other's files or processes, because they're genuinely separated at the container level, not just at the filesystem permission level.
\nThis matters more than most people realize. It means:
\nThe admin interface (HiTechAdmin) is where you manage everything from the server side: create users, set plan limits, monitor resource usage, manage the firewall, configure branding. The user-facing panel (HiTechCloud) is what your clients log into — it's clean, modern, mobile-responsive, and has dark mode if that matters to your clients.
\nHere's a direct look at what operators gain and what they trade when switching from cPanel to HiTechCloud.
\nSecurity architecture. The Docker-per-user model is genuinely better than what cPanel offers. cPanel's security is largely CloudLinux-dependent — you often need to pay for CloudLinux on top of cPanel to get real isolation. HiTechCloud includes this by design, for free.
\nWeb server flexibility. With cPanel you're largely stuck with Apache (or Nginx in front of Apache via EA-Nginx). HiTechCloud lets you assign Nginx, Apache, OpenResty, or OpenLiteSpeed per user. Not per server — per user. If a client needs OpenLiteSpeed for caching reasons, fine. Everyone else can stay on Nginx.
\nMySQL per user. Each user gets their own MySQL/MariaDB/Percona instance with configurable limits. In cPanel, all databases live in the same MySQL server, which means one runaway query can affect every other user on the box.
\nResource limiting. You can set hard limits on CPU, memory, disk, port speed, and inodes — per plan, not just per user. So your \"Basic\" plan literally cannot exceed the resources you've allocated, regardless of what's running inside the container.
\nPrice. HiTechCloud Community Edition is free for up to 3 users and 50 websites. The Enterprise Edition — which adds email, FTP, Docker management, and removes all limits — is €14.95/month. Flat. No per-account fees. No annual hikes (so far). For a 30-account operation, you're looking at roughly $16/month vs. $53/month for a comparable cPanel license.
\nEcosystem and familiarity. cPanel has been around since 1996. Your clients might already know it. Your junior staff might already know it. That's real. Switching panels means a learning curve for everyone involved, including you.
\nThird-party integrations. cPanel integrates with more billing platforms, more registrars, more DNS providers. HiTechCloud has WHMCS, Blesta, FOSSBilling, and an API — which covers most cases — but if you're deeply embedded in a more obscure stack, check first.
\nEmail hosting. This is worth flagging honestly: HiTechCloud's email features are in the Enterprise Edition and are newer than the rest of the product. If email hosting is a core part of your business, test it thoroughly before committing.
\nEstablished documentation. Seven years of Stack Overflow answers, YouTube tutorials, and forum threads exist for cPanel. HiTechCloud's docs are good and actively maintained, but the community knowledge base is obviously smaller.
\nHere's what a small hosting operation actually costs with each panel, using real 2026 pricing.

\nThat's $37/month back in your pocket. Per year, that's $444 — nearly half a cPanel license just handed back to you. If you're charging clients $10–15/month for hosting, that difference pays for 3–4 extra client slots before you even break even on cPanel.
\nMigration from cPanel to any other panel has a reputation for being painful, and that reputation is partly earned. But HiTechCloud has a meaningful advantage here that most alternatives don't: native cPanel backup import.
\nIf you've generated a full cPanel backup (the .tar.gz files produced by cPanel's backup wizard), HiTechCloud can import them directly. That means your files, databases, email accounts, and DNS records come across without manual extraction or restructuring. For most sites, this alone cuts migration time from hours to minutes per account.
The overall process looks like this:
\nFor a 5–10 account operation, this is realistically a few hours of work, not a weekend. For larger migrations, batching by 10–20 accounts per session keeps it manageable.
\nA few things worth knowing before you start: DNS propagation takes time regardless of which panel you're on, so plan the cutover during low-traffic windows. And if any accounts have custom cPanel-specific configurations (EasyApache-compiled modules, custom WHM hooks), those will need manual review as the backup import handles data, not bespoke server config.
